ASUS RTX 4070 Super vs Gigabyte RTX 5070 OC for MSFS: marginal gap, mid-range value decides.
The Gigabyte RTX 5070 Gaming OC rates 34.4/100 against the ASUS RTX 4070 Super OC at 30.8/100 on our model-derived scale — a 3.6-point gap that translates to modest frame-time headroom rather than a transformative difference in MSFS 2024. The ASUS RTX 4070 Super OC holds its ground on VFR cross-country legs and lower-density photogrammetry corridors where MSFS 2024 stays CPU-bound, making the 4070 Super's existing DLSS 3 support sufficient to maintain smooth frametimes. The RTX 5070 Gaming OC pulls ahead during VR city flyovers over dense photogrammetry zones like New York or London where its improved rasterization and DLSS 4 multi-frame generation capacity provides a more consistent experience.
Choose ASUS RTX 4070 Super OC if…
Choose ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4070 Super OC Edition 12GB GDDR6X Graphics Card if you're flying VFR cross-country or IFR approaches into mid-tier airports at 1440p where MSFS 2024 stays CPU-limited and the 4070 Super's performance ceiling is rarely the bottleneck.
Choose Gigabyte RTX 5070 Gaming OC if…
Choose Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5070 Gaming OC 12G Graphics Card if you're flying VR sessions over dense photogrammetry zones or managing complex online multiplayer traffic at EGLL or KJFK where the GPU headroom and DLSS 4 support make a tangible difference.
Our take
With only 3.6 points separating them, this is a value-tier call: if the RTX 5070 Gaming OC carries a meaningful premium over its mid-range positioning, the ASUS RTX 4070 Super OC is the sharper buy for most MSFS 2024 sim pilots flying outside heavy VR photogrammetry workloads.
