AOC 27B2H 27" FHD IPS vs Samsung 34" Odyssey G5 Ultrawide Curved (LS34CG552) for X-Plane 12: 25.4-point gap, clear winner.
The Odyssey G5 scores 71.75/100 against the AOC 27B2H's 46.4/100 — a 25.4-point gap that translates directly into a wider field of view, higher resolution, and a refresh rate headroom that the AOC simply cannot match in X-Plane 12. The AOC 27B2H holds its ground only on GPU budget: at 1080p its lower rendering demand lets weaker mid-range cards maintain stable frame times during VFR cross-country legs without pushing the GPU hard. The Odyssey G5's 1440p ultrawide and 165Hz rate make a tangible difference during dense photogrammetry approaches into EGLL or online VATSIM sessions over busy airspace, where the extra horizontal real estate keeps charts, traffic, and runway environment all in peripheral view.
Choose AOC 27B2H if…
Choose AOC 27B2H 27-Inch Full HD IPS Monitor if you are GPU-limited and need 1080p's lighter rendering load to hold acceptable frame times during busy X-Plane 12 online multiplayer sessions without upgrading your GPU.
Choose Samsung Odyssey G5 34" if…
Choose Samsung 34-Inch Odyssey G5 Ultrawide Curved Gaming Monitor (LS34CG552ENXZA) if you fly photogrammetry-heavy routes or dense approach corridors in X-Plane 12 and want the 1440p ultrawide canvas and 165Hz headroom to match.
Our take
The Odyssey G5 is the clear call for most X-Plane 12 pilots — its 25.4-point lead, ultrawide 1440p panel, and 165Hz ceiling outclass the AOC 27B2H in every scenario that matters beyond raw GPU budget constraints.
